Hi, Purrfectly Pawsitive is currently looking for an employed part time cat groomer. This role will be 16 to 24 hours per week and you can choose which days work best for you. It will be completely salon based.
This will be great for the following people:
- You’ve done some cat grooming training or handling and want to build up your skills.
- You’re currently housecall but want to move to a salon without the expenditure and have more work life balance.
- Job security with an hourly wage and private healthcare insurance.
- Have other work or commitments and would prefer part time work.
Responsibilities
- Perform professional cat grooming services, including bathing, drying, combing, de-shedding, de-matting, sanitary trims, nail trimming and ear cleaning.
- Handle cats calmly, safely and confidently using low-stress handling techniques.
- Monitor cats throughout the grooming process and prioritise their welfare at all times.
- Provide professional consultations with owners before and after appointments, discussing grooming options, coat maintenance and aftercare.
- Identify any abnormalities such as skin irritation, parasites, lumps or wounds and communicate to owners.
- Maintain excellent hygiene standards.
About you:
You must love cats and their welfare. And be used to handling cats and be calm and compassionate. You may have done some cat grooming training in the past or have groomed dogs and want to move into felines.
The role will offer private healthcare and help with tools purchase unless you have your own. I’m ideally looking for someone who can confidently hit the ground running, but you’d be fully supported through a gentle training period.
