Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and inspecting heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs in accordance with DVSA specifications and legal requirements.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults on lorries and trailers.
- Carry out repairs including engine overhauls, brake replacements, and suspension work.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist in the ordering of parts and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Test vehicles post-repair to confirm proper functioning before returning to service.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance schedules.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic or similar role within the commercial vehicle sector.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and specialised equipment effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
