Kitchen Assistant / Cook — The Old Chapel, Cheltenham

Hours: Monday–Friday (day shifts)

The Old Chapel is a restored café and wake facility based within Cheltenham Cemetery, offering catering for wakes and light café service in a peaceful, welcoming setting. Everything we serve is homemade, made with care and quality ingredients.
The role:
We're looking for a reliable, hands-on cook to run our kitchen. Day-to-day duties include:
- Preparing homemade sandwiches and simple café food
- Baking homemade cakes and traybakes for both the café and wake catering
- Ordering ingredients and managing kitchen stock
- Keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and food-hygiene compliant
What we're looking for:
- Confident with basic baking and homemade food prep
- Takes pride in quality, homemade cooking
- Comfortable working independently in a kitchen
- Reliable, organised, and happy working around a sensitive, respectful environment (wakes and bereaved families)
- Food hygiene certificate preferred (or willing to obtain one)
Pay: £12.71-£15.00 per hour
