As our Baker / Pastry Chef, you’ll be responsible for preparing fresh baked goods and desserts for the bistro, ensuring everything is made to a high and consistent standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing and baking cakes, desserts, pastries and other sweet items
Following recipes and maintaining consistent quality and portion sizes
Decorating and presenting products to a high standard
Preparing ingredients and completing baking prep for service
Making sure products are fresh and ready on time
Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic work area
Following food hygiene, allergen and health & safety procedures
Monitoring the quality and freshness of baked products
Helping develop new cakes, desserts and seasonal specials
Working efficiently and independently during busy periods
Minimising waste and using ingredients carefully
Communicating with the kitchen and management team
Supporting the general smooth running of the bakery/pastry section
What We’re Looking For:
Experienced in baking, pastry or dessert preparation
Confident making cakes, desserts and baked goods from scratch
Consistent and able to follow recipes accurately
Creative with good attention to detail and presentation
Reliable, punctual and organised
Able to work independently and manage their workload
Comfortable working in a busy hospitality environment
Knowledgeable about food hygiene and allergens
Willing to learn and develop within the role
Flexible with working days and hours where required
Pay & Progression:
The role will initially be paid at National Minimum Wage. For someone who performs well, maintains high standards and shows commitment to the role, there will be opportunities for performance based bonuses and pay increases.
