Horncastle or Skegness - Full-time - Permanent
We’re accountants. But we’re also people.
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team at either our Horncastle or Skegness office.
We’re a friendly, down-to-earth accountancy practice, and while we take our work seriously, we don’t believe you have to take yourself too seriously to be good at it.
We work with a varied range of clients who we genuinely enjoy working with, we build long-term relationships with them and pride ourselves on providing a personal, practical service. We’re looking for someone who can become an important part of our team.
What will you be doing?
You’ll have responsibility for a varied portfolio of clients, with plenty of variety in your day-to-day work.
Your role will include:
- Managing your own portfolio of clients
- Preparing year-end accounts and tax computations/returns
- Assisting with bookkeeping and VAT work where required
- Keeping on top of month-end submissions and deadlines
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients
- Dealing with day-to-day client and team queries
- Supporting colleagues and contributing to the wider practice
- Working alongside the partners and helping to ensure the smooth running of the practice
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who is experienced, capable and confident, but who is also approachable and enjoys working as part of a team.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- At least 4 years' experience in practice
- Strong technical knowledge, including FRS 102 and FRS 105
- Experience managing a varied portfolio of clients
- The ability to work independently and keep on top of deadlines
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A professional but approachable manner
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience with bookkeeping software such as Sage, Xero and QuickBooks
- Experience with the IRIS Accounts Production Suite would be an advantage, but isn't essential
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is reliable, personable and takes pride in their work.
You’ll be dealing directly with clients, so being able to communicate clearly, build relationships and understand what people actually need from their accountant is just as important to us as the technical side of the role.
What can we offer you?
You’ll be joining a supportive team where people know each other, work together and are encouraged to get involved.
We offer:
- A competitive salary, dependent on experience
- Company pension
- Free on-site parking
- Sick pay
- A friendly and supportive working environment
- A varied client portfolio and interesting day-to-day work
- The opportunity to develop your skills and take on responsibility
- The chance to become a valued member of an established and growing practice
Interested?

We’re proud to be an accountancy practice that combines professional expertise with a friendly, personal approach — to our clients and to each other.
If that sounds like the kind of place you’d like to work, please send us your CV and tell us a little about yourself.
