Level 3 Qualified (CCLD, NVQ or similar) in accordance with the QCF or leave 3 Playwork. Willing to achieve in the Level 3 Playwork within two years and Level 4/5 CCLD in the near future.
Fixed Term until March 2027 (extension of contract subject to further funding from the Welsh Government).
Working hours 14:30 pm until 18:00 pm. These are subject to change slightly in line with operational delivery.
The Early Years Team leaders are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and reliable Deputy Practitioners to work in partnership with Senior Practitioners, key staff, parents and carers to promote the vision and values of the Flying Start programme.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic After School Club Deputy Practitioner to join our Flying Start Team.
As Deputy Practitioner, you will support the Senior Practitioner in the day-to-day running of our After School Club and take responsibility for the setting in their absence. You will help deliver high-quality childcare, lead engaging play opportunities and work closely with children, families, schools and partner agencies to ensure every child reaches their potential.

Support the daily operation of the After School Club and the deputise for the Senior Practitioner.
- Plan and deliver creative, age-appropriate activities.
- Build positive relationships with children and families.
- Support students and volunteers.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety and CIW requirements are met.
Essential requirements
Relevant level 3 Early Years or Play qualification.
- Experience working with children aged 0-12 years.
- Experience delivering play and learning activities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality.
- Maintaining accurate records, observations and assessments.
- Promoting an inclusive environment where every child feels valued, safe and supported.
Due to the nature of the role, the post-holder will be required to take annual leave at times which coincide with Flying Start closures.
The appointment process will involve and an interview with senior members of the Flying Start Team and a scenario-based task.
