Justteachers is seeking a dedicated, full-time Level 3 Teaching Assistant for a partner primary school in Heywood starting this September. This role requires a fully qualified practitioner capable of leading small groups and supporting the class teacher across the curriculum.
Role Overview
- Position: Level 3 Teaching Assistant (TA)
- Location: Heywood (OL10)
- Start Date: September 2026
- Contract: Full-time, long-term (term-time only)
Key Responsibilities
- Group Interventions: Plan and deliver targeted literacy, numeracy, and phonics interventions to boost attainment gaps.
- Teacher Support: Collaborate with the class teacher to prepare resources, set up lessons, and manage classroom displays.
- Assessment Support: Observe, assess, and record pupil progress, contributing feedback for parents' evenings and reviews.
- Class Cover: Confidently supervise whole classes for short periods during planned teacher PPA time or unexpected absences.
- Inclusion Support: Provide differentiated support to pupils with additional needs, ensuring all learners can access the curriculum.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Qualifications: A mandatory Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent.
- Experience: Proven experience working as a TA within a UK primary school setting, with strong knowledge of the National Curriculum.
- Skills: Excellent literacy and numeracy skills, alongside strong classroom management capabilities.
- Compliance: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or the willingness to apply for a new one through Justteachers.
