Leadership. Excellence. Uncompromising Standards.
We are seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead an exciting new chapter for one of Birmingham’s most established premium Indian restaurants.
Recently acquired by an ambitious and growing hospitality group, the restaurant is entering a period of investment, development and renewed ambition. This is a rare opportunity to lead a respected establishment and play a defining role in its future.
We are looking for an accomplished hospitality leader with experience managing luxury establishments, high-end busy restaurants or premium dining venues. You will combine exceptional service standards with strong commercial awareness, structured corporate experience and the ability to lead a large team in a demanding environment.
This is a visible, hands-on leadership role. You will set the culture, drive performance and ensure every service reflects the highest standards of hospitality, professionalism and attention to detail.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, inspire and develop the front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
- Take full ownership of the restaurant’s daily operation and performance.
- Maintain exceptional service standards across every guest touchpoint.
- Lead busy, high-volume services with confidence and composure.
- Recruit, train and retain a high-performing team.
- Build a positive culture based on accountability, pride and consistency.
- Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure seamless coordination between the kitchen and restaurant floor.
- Manage sales, labour, stock, budgets and profitability.
- Take responsibility for P&L performance and agreed commercial targets.
- Implement effective systems for ordering, stock control and waste management.
- Develop corporate business, local partnerships and valuable guest relationships.
- Handle guest feedback professionally and ensure swift resolution.
- Ensure full compliance with licensing, health and safety and hygiene standards.
- Continually identify opportunities to improve the guest experience and operational performance.
About You
- A minimum of five years’ proven experience as a General Manager within a premium, luxury or high-volume restaurant.
- Experience managing a large, busy and commercially successful hospitality operation.
- A background within a structured restaurant group, luxury hotel or corporate hospitality environment.
- A strong understanding of premium service and the detail required to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Strong financial acumen, including P&L management, budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
- A proven ability to drive sales and profitability without compromising standards.
- Experience recruiting, developing and retaining strong teams.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
- A visible, confident and hands-on presence during service.
- Calm, decisive and solutions-focused under pressure.
- High standards of professionalism, integrity and personal presentation.
- Strong knowledge of Birmingham’s hospitality landscape, customer base and corporate market.
What We Value
We are looking for a leader who:
- Sets the standard rather than simply maintaining it.
- Leads with warmth, authority and consistency.
- Inspires people to perform at their best.
- Creates structure, clarity and accountability.
- Balances commercial performance with genuine hospitality.
- Takes complete ownership of results.
- Never compromises on the guest experience.
What We Offer
- Salary of £45,000–£50,000, depending on experience.
- Full-time, permanent employment.
- A five-day working week.
- Half-yearly performance-related bonus.
- The opportunity to lead an established restaurant through an exciting new chapter.
- Strong support from ownership and senior leadership.
- Genuine progression within an ambitious and expanding hospitality group.
- The opportunity to shape one of Birmingham’s leading dining destinations.
This role is for an ambitious hospitality professional who combines luxury service standards, strong corporate discipline and proven commercial leadership.
