Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Manager to join our childcare team from September 2026. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of young children within a nurturing and stimulating environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about early childhood education and childcare management to make a positive impact on children's lives. The role involves working closely with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure high standards of care and learning are maintained. This would suit an experienced Level 3 practitioner ready to step into managing a small team. Remote support by the nursery owner and weekly visits.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, and deliver engaging activities tailored to the developmental needs of children aged 0-5 years.
- Support children’s emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development through personalised care and educational programmes.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, behaviour, and daily activities in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations within the nursery or childcare setting.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, behaviour, and any concerns.
- Supervise children during playtime, mealtimes, naps, and outings to ensure their safety at all times.
- Support the nursery owner in implementing policies related to health & safety, safeguarding, and child protection.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities by mentoring junior staff members and assisting in their professional development.
- Contribute to the organisation’s continuous improvement initiatives by sharing ideas and best practices.
Experience
- Previous experience as a lead working with children in a nursery or early childhood education setting is highly desirable.
- Proven management or leadership skills within a childcare environment are advantageous.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and early childhood education frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and team members.
- Experience in childcare management or supervisory roles is preferred but not essential for entry-level candidates willing to develop these skills.
- Valid driving licence is considered an asset for facilitating outings or home visits if required. Pay: £16.00-£20.00 per hour
