Overview
We are seeking a skilled and versatile person to join our construction team working on a long-term void contract within Tamworth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various trades, including carpentry, basic plumbing, tiling, plastering, but not essential, and the use of hand and power tools. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with practical experience in construction-related fields to contribute to diverse projects, ensuring quality craftsmanship and safety standards are met. Applicants must be reliable, safety-conscious, and eager to develop their skills further within a dynamic environment. All Applicants must have a CSCS card.
Duties
- Assemble components using a range of hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
- Perform carpentry tasks including joinery and general construction work
- Painting to surfaces for finishing
- Assist with site preparation, clean-up, and organisation of materials
- Follow any drawings and project plans accurately to ensure precise execution of tasks
- Maintain a clean, organised workspace, adhering to health and safety standards
Skills
- Proven experience in council contracts working on council properties, carpentry, joinery, plumbing, tiling, painting etc
- Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, saws, chisels, screwdrivers
- Competence in operating power tools including drills, saws, grinders
- Knowledge of construction processes
- Strong understanding of health & safety regulations relevant to construction sites
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different project requirements
