Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Assist with food preparation and cooking while ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to recipes and standards.
- Support the kitchen team in maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety and food safety regulations.
- Contribute to food production processes, including portioning, plating, and presentation of dishes to maintain high culinary standards.
- Ensure all food products are stored, handled, and prepared correctly in line with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Monitor stock levels, check ingredient freshness, and assist with inventory management to minimise waste and maintain efficient kitchen operations.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service, particularly during busy periods.
- Report any maintenance, hygiene, or safety hazards to the appropriate department promptly.
- Comply with all hotel policies and procedures, including security, fire safety, health and safety, and food safety legislation.
- Demonstrate environmental awareness and contribute to sustainable and responsible kitchen practices.
- Participate in training and development activities to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of kitchen operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment or hospitality setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
- Demonstrable skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
