About the Role
1st Choice Removals is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and customer-focused HGV Driver to join our growing European removals team based in Bournemouth.
This role involves carrying out residential and commercial removals throughout the UK and mainland Europe. You'll work alongside an experienced removals crew, delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring customers' belongings are transported safely, securely, and professionally.
The position requires regular international travel, overnight stays, and periods away from home, depending on customer schedules and destinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely drive and operate HGV removal vehicles throughout the UK and Europe in accordance with UK and European driving regulations.
- Carry out residential and commercial removals across the UK and mainland Europe.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload furniture and customers' belongings with the utmost care.
- Complete daily vehicle safety inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness.
- Assist with customs and transport documentation where required.
- Comply with drivers' hours regulations, tachograph legislation, and company policies.
- Work closely with the removals team to complete jobs efficiently and professionally.
- Deliver outstanding customer service throughout every stage of the move.
- Represent 1st Choice Removals professionally while working in the UK and overseas.
Requirements
- Valid UK HGV driving licence (Category C or C+E).
- Valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Digital tachograph card.
- Valid passport with the ability to travel throughout Europe.
- Previous removals, international transport, or multi-drop experience is desirable.
- Good understanding of drivers' hours and tachograph regulations.
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.
- Flexible approach to working away from home for extended periods.
- Positive attitude, excellent teamwork, and strong customer service skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
