Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and organised Activities Coordinator to enhance the quality of life for residents in a care home specialising in senior care. The successful candidate will plan, coordinate, and facilitate engaging activities tailored to the needs and interests of residents, including those requiring dementia and Alzheimer's care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults by promoting social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a diverse programme of activities suitable for residents with varying needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care.
- Organise group outings, recreational events, and therapeutic activities that promote socialisation and engagement.
- Collaborate with care staff to assess individual resident preferences and abilities, ensuring activities are inclusive and beneficial.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve activity programmes.
- Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages residents to participate actively in daily life.
- Assist with organising special events such as birthdays, holidays, and themed celebrations.
- Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations and organisational policies.
Skills
- Previous experience working in assisted living or nursing home environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of senior care practices, including dementia and Alzheimer's care, is essential.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and staff.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in enhancing the wellbeing of older adults.
- Organisational skills to plan and execute varied activity programmes efficiently.
- Ability to adapt activities to meet individual needs while maintaining a positive attitude.

Pay: £12.87 per hour
