The Opportunity
As a New Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities that drive revenue growth and profitability.
Working closely with senior leadership and operational teams, you’ll help deliver tailored logistics solutions that genuinely add value for customers.
You’ll have the autonomy to manage your pipeline, influence strategy and build long-term customer partnerships — all within a supportive and entrepreneurial environment where your success is recognised and rewarded.
Salary from £45000 pa, dependant on experience, plus car allowance, plus bonus.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Building, managing and converting a strong pipeline of new business opportunities
- Identifying and securing new customers across multiple sectors
- Developing and delivering strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed targets
- Researching markets, competitors and customer needs to identify opportunities
- Managing incoming enquiries and proactively driving sales activity
- Preparing professional proposals, presentations, quotations and tender responses
- Leading customer onboarding to ensure a smooth implementation process
- Building strong relationships with decision-makers and stakeholders, including senior and C-suite contacts
- Collaborating with internal departments, particularly Operations and Marketing, to deliver outstanding customer experiences
- Contributing ideas and strategies to support continued business growth and innovation
- Representing Crown SDS professionally at meetings, events and networking opportunities
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is motivated, resilient and passionate about developing new business opportunities. This role is 100% new business and looking for someone with a sales "Hunter" mentality.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ successful Business Development experience
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
- Experience in consultative B2B sales
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Confidence communicating with senior stakeholders and decision-makers
- Commercial awareness and a strategic mindset
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong IT skills including Excel, PowerPoint and CRM systems
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable:
- Experience within logistics, transport or courier industries
