Roller Shutter and Steel Door Maintenance Engineer

Calder Construction & Shop Fitting Ltd are a construction and maintenance company specialising in provision of new build, repair and shop fit works for a major national retailer. We are a friendly and forward-thinking organisation with busy work schedule for the foreseeable future.
The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing & servicing roller shutter doors and steel doors, across various sites. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilise a range of construction skills, and contribute to the safety and functionality of our clients’ premises. Candidates should possess a strong background in construction or maintenance related trades and be comfortable working with various tools.

Key Responsibilities:
- The role will focus predominately across the M62 corridor, with the base being situated in Mytholmroyd, Halifax.
- Install, service, maintain, and repair roller shutter doors and industrial door systems
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and general maintenance at sites
- Respond to customer call-outs when required.
- Carry out effective communication with customers
- Ensure tasks are completed efficiently
- Providing support to team members where required
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with roller shutter doors or industrial doors.
- Good electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools and fabrication techniques.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- CSCS card, IPAF, or EN16005 experience is an advantage but not essential.
- A positive attitude and the ability to self-motivate is a must
- Taking responsibility for the overall quality of work, completing to a high standard while following health and safety procedures.
Much of the work is along the M62 corridor but there will be times when staying away is required and this could be anywhere in the UK. Overnight allowances will be payable and working away bonuses will be provided when timescales are hit and standards of work are high.
We are based near Halifax and therefore we are looking for people who live no more than a 15 miles radius away from there.
