Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Supervised Contact Worker to support children and families within our community. The role involves supervising contact sessions between children and their families in a safe, supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working with children and possess strong interpersonal skills. Responsibilities
- Supervise contact sessions between children and their authorised family members in designated facilities
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children during contact sessions
- Support children and families by creating a welcoming and respectful environment
- Monitor interactions to promote positive behaviour and communication
- Maintain accurate records of contact sessions, including attendance and any incidents
- Report any concerns or safeguarding issues to the appropriate authorities promptly
- Assist with setting up and tidying the contact area before and after sessions
- Follow organisational policies and procedures related to child protection and confidentiality
- Transport children to and from the contact centre
Skills
- Experience working with children is highly desirable, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and colleagues
- Ability to remain calm and professional in potentially challenging situations
- Organised with good attention to detail for record keeping and reporting
- Respectful attitude towards diversity and individual needs
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to safeguarding principles
