Overview
We are seeking a reliable, motivated and physically fit Yard Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with materials handling, loading and unloading goods and maintaining an organised yard environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where safety, organisation, and customer satisfaction are paramount.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the loading and unloading of goods using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Operate forklift trucks and other warehouse machinery safely and efficiently.
- Assist with organising the yard, ensuring all items are stored correctly and safely
- Support shipping and receiving activities including documentation and inventory checks
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers or visitors on-site.
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to during daily operations.
- Support other team members with various duties as required to ensure smooth yard operations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in general yard maintenance is desirable but not essential.
- Valid driving licence with experience in operating relevant vehicles is preferred.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Good physical fitness, capable of lifting heavy objects and performing manual labour as needed.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Pay: £28,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
