Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker and Senior Support Worker to join our team at Caritas Homes. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing care and support to children, ensuring their welfare is prioritised and helping them to develop positively in a loving family-like environment. You must be resilient and reliable for this rewarding and challenging role. Shift work includes a sleep in paid at £50 per night.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans for children.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to children in our care.
- Engage with children through activities that promote their development and well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and any incidents that occur.
- Communicate effectively with team members, families, and external agencies.
- Ensure the safety and security of the home environment.
Requirements – Support Worker
- Experience working with children or within the childcare sector is essential.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
- Resilient and reliable, mentally and physically healthy.
- A caring and empathetic approach towards children's needs.
- Basic IT skills for record-keeping and communication.
Additional Requirements – Senior Support Worker
- Ability to organise, plan, and take responsibility.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both with colleagues and children, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to motivate, aid, and guide children in their self-development.
- Ability to be flexible and creative.
- Ability to set appropriate examples for children at all times.
- Ability to genuinely listen and respond responsibly with sensitivity.
- Ability to manage children who display disruptive or challenging behaviour and guide/direct staff in managing that behaviour.
- Ability to understand and implement Quality Standards.
- Ability to react calmly in stressful situations.
- Ability to maintain IT-based administrative records as required by the organisation.
- Run shifts, delivering high standards of care, love, protection, and support to children, facilitating their physical, psychological, emotional, and social development in line with individual care plans.
- Act as an appropriate role model and work closely with children to enable them to achieve their aspirations.
