Join a growing commercial business where your People expertise will make a real impact and accelerate your career progression.
We're recruiting a People Advisor for a growing commercial business where things move quickly and no two days are quite the same.
This role would suit an experienced People Advisor who is ready for more responsibility and wants to develop towards a People Partner position. It isn't a full Business Partner role, but it will give you plenty of exposure to partnering work and the opportunity to build your experience with the support of an established senior People team.
You'll work closely with managers across the business, offering practical advice on a range of people matters. Much of the employee relations work is centred around wellbeing and performance, so you'll need to be comfortable having honest conversations and helping managers deal with issues properly.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and coaching managers with day-to-day people matters
- Managing employee relations cases, particularly those involving wellbeing and performance
- Supporting the Senior People Partners with wider projects and initiatives
- Spotting where processes or ways of working could be improved
- Working with Learning and Development when additional manager training is needed
- Helping managers make sensible, fair and commercially sound decisions
This business isn't looking for someone who simply quotes policy. They want somebody who asks questions, thinks about the wider situation and is prepared to recommend a way forward.
You'll need solid generalist HR experience, good employee relations knowledge and the confidence to work with managers at different levels. Just as importantly, you'll be naturally curious, adaptable and able to keep up with a business that moves at pace.
Experience within technology or another fast-moving commercial environment would be helpful, although it isn't essential. What matters most is your ability to understand the business, think on your feet and find practical solutions.
There is a genuine opportunity to progress into a People Partner role as your experience develops.
The role is hybrid, with three days in the office and two from home. A little more time in the office may be helpful while you are getting settled and learning the business.
If you're an experienced People Advisor who wants more exposure, greater responsibility and a clear next step, we'd be keen to hear from you.
