Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support to individuals in a care home setting, particularly focusing on senior care. This role requires excellent communication skills, leadership abilities, and a proactive approach to developing and implementing care plans tailored to the needs of our residents. We are hiring for Day shift, as well as the night shift.
Duties
- Provide personal care and support to residents, ensuring their dignity and comfort at all times.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans, regularly reviewing and updating as necessary.
- Supervise junior staff members, offering guidance and support to ensure high standards of care are maintained.
- Foster a positive environment by promoting independence and encouraging residents to engage in social activities.
- Maintain accurate records of residents’ progress and any changes in their condition, ensuring effective communication with the healthcare team.
- Utilise IT systems and Care vision for documentation and communication purposes, ensuring compliance with organisational policies.
- Preferred - The successful candidate must be medication-administration trained and have proven experience in safely administering medications, maintaining MAR charts, and following organisational and regulatory guidelines.
Experience
- Previous experience in a care home or senior care environment is essential.
- Supervising experience is highly desirable, demonstrating leadership skills within a team setting.
- Familiarity with developing care plans and understanding individual needs is crucial.
- Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with residents, families, and team members.
