PMLD Teaching Assistant
It takes a very special type of person to become a PMLD Teaching Assistant. You must be caring, patient, fun and understanding, as these children require a high level of support every day. A PMLD Teaching Assistant must provide care with dignity and respect, particularly when supporting children with personal care needs. Sense Education are working closely with a school that is looking for exactly that.
This role can be both physically and emotionally demanding; however, every day is incredibly rewarding. Watching the children’s personalities grow and flourish can truly put a smile on anyone’s face.
The school
This school caters for students (aged 3-19) with Complex and Multiple Learning Needs (CMLN) in purpose-built specialist facilities. The school nurses and physiotherapists are also based on this site. Daily learning is guided by each pupil’s EHCP targets and Personalised Learning Plans to ensure education is meaningful, engaging and responsive to individual needs.

Qualifications & Requirements
· Minimum qualifications required – A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or a background in education or care (NVQ, CACHE, Degree or equivalent)
· Experience supporting children with SEND
· Passionate working with young children or adults with disabilities

Pay Rate: £14.60 - £16.90 per hour
Working Hours
8.30am – 3.30pm
Monday – Friday
Term – time only
Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Pay: £14.60-£16.90 per hour
