We work through themes and topics, balancing child-led and adult-led experiences. Our team walks alongside children who need extra support, helping them access learning, build confidence, and belong fully in our community.
The Role
We're looking for a SEND Support Staff member to join our team on a part-time, all-year-round basis. You'll work collaboratively with our SENCO, key persons, parents, and wider team to:
- Provide tailored, responsive support to children with identified additional needs
- Implement personalised strategies and interventions, drawing on current best practice and following SEND plans or EHCPs.
- Observe closely and feedback to help us understand what each child needs
- Support children's emotional regulation, communication, and social development
- Work flexibly across our three rooms as needed
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress tracking
- Champion inclusive practice across the nursery
- Follow the principles of safeguarding in order to safeguard and promote the welfare of children
- Promote positive behaviour and support children’s personal, social and emotional development
- Help to embed the nursery curriculum for the children by participating in outings to support the wider team
- Take part in relevant training and group meetings as appropriate to enhance personal and professional development and practice.
- To carry out any other duties which fall within the scope and purpose of this job and working within a nursery setting.
About You
You'll have:
- Experience working with young children, ideally in an early years setting
- Genuine empathy and patience, alongside the ability to celebrate small wins
- A willingness to learn and adapt your approach based on each child's needs
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- A commitment to safeguarding and our nursery's values
- Provide 2 satisfactory references
- Hold or embark on training for paediatric first aid
Relevant qualifications or training in SEND support, child development, or speech and language (or a willingness to upskill) would be a real asset—but what matters most is your attitude.

Start Date: Immediate subject to passing Working Interview
