Number of hours: 30 - 37.5 hours, to be agreed with successful candidate.
Working pattern: Over 5 days, some Saturdays may be required, exact pattern to be agreed with successful candidate.
This is a newly created role within the practice, offering an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to establish, develop and shape the Site Supervisor role. We are looking for a reliable, practical and proactive individual who can take ownership of the role and work closely with the Practice Business Manager to develop effective systems, processes and standards for the management of our premises and facilities.
As the sole Site Supervisor, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance, safety, security and smooth running of our purpose-built GP practice. The role is intentionally broad, and we are looking for someone who can bring their own experience and ideas to help develop the role and ensure it meets the evolving needs of the practice.
Your responsibilities will include general handyman duties, basic repairs, grounds maintenance, routine premises checks, contractor management, health and safety, compliance and the overall upkeep of the building.
Working within a busy primary care environment supporting approximately 50–60 staff across 24 consultation rooms and associated office spaces, this is an important role in ensuring our premises remain safe, well-maintained, secure and fit for purpose. You will be expected to identify issues proactively, respond promptly to maintenance requirements and develop practical solutions that improve the way we manage our premises.
There will also be an element of responsibility for cleaning services. The practice currently uses an external cleaning contractor, and the Site Supervisor will help manage this contract, monitor standards, support quality assurance and coordinate deep cleans and cover during periods of sickness or absence. In time, there is an ambition to develop a more in-house cleaning model, and the successful candidate will have an opportunity to help shape and implement this approach.
As this is a new position, there is considerable scope for the successful candidate to develop the role over time, introducing and improving systems for maintenance, compliance, asset management, contractor oversight and facilities management. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, enjoys taking ownership and is keen to make the role their own.
You will work closely with the Practice Business Manager and wider practice team, with the opportunity to make a tangible contribution to the working environment for our staff and the experience of our patients.
