The Role at a Glance
As Stores Manager - England, you’ll maintain the operational readiness of stores, equipment, and logistics to ensure smooth trip delivery. Your role includes allocating resources, tracking inventory, managing hire vehicles, procuring consumables, scheduling maintenance, and streamlining processes. Working independently, you will be relied upon to make day-to-day operational decisions. You’ll also take a hands-on role in preparing trips to deliver a 5-star experience for our guides and clients. Cross-functional collaboration with trip operations, sales, partner relations, marketing, finance and guiding team is key to supporting the needs of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Logistics & Vehicles: Manage a small fleet of vehicles/trailers (servicing, repairs, and hire bookings). Coordinate gear shipments to guides across the UK.
- Equipment & Inventory: Track digital inventory of spares and consumables. Coordinate with our Bike Mechanic to keep road and e-bikes trip-ready.
- Supplier Relations: Build relationships with premium brands (Enterprise, Trek Bikes, Ford, Veloforte, etc.) and manage seasonal budgets.
- Guide Support: Develop store/equipment training, oversee kit returns, and maintain strict Health & Safety and environmental standards.
What We Are Looking For
Essential:
- A creative, practical, "fix-it" mindset and the ability to work independently.
- A clean driving licence with the ability to drive a van and tow a trailer (training can be provided).
- Strong IT, admin, and organisational skills (experience with Google Drive, Mac, or CRM systems like Salesforce is a plus).
- Excellent attention to detail and great interpersonal skills.
- Competent decision maker, happy to work independently
- A genuine passion for outdoor adventure and sustainability.
Desirable (An Advantage):
- Interest or experience in maintaining modern road, gravel, and e-bikes.
- Experience with equipment safety checks.
- Any National Governing Body (NGB) outdoor activity qualifications.
Hours of Work
This role adapts to the outdoor tourism seasons. Scheduled hours may vary a little each week, pending which trips are operating and can be managed between your line managers. You will work 35 hours per week, and this may look as follows:
- ☀ Summer (April – October): Busy season with strict deadlines and hands-on trip prep. Includes scheduled weekend work.
- Tue - Wed (9am–5pm) | Thu (8am–4pm) | Fri (10am–6pm) | Sat (7am–3pm) | Sun & Mon: OFF
- ❄ Winter (November – March): Planning, kit repairs, and maintenance. More flexibility for annual leave.
- Mon - Fri (9am–5pm) | Sat & Sun: OFF
