About the Role
Working closely with the Logistics Manager, the Driver is responsible for completing FIKA’s daily deliveries and collections safely, accurately and on time.
This is a hands-on operational role and goes beyond simply driving from one location to another. You will be responsible for loading and unloading vehicles, checking deliveries, handling food and equipment appropriately, supporting the preparation of equipment and resources, and helping with event setups and breakdowns when required.
The role requires someone who is reliable, organised and comfortable working independently while remaining part of the wider FIKA operational team.
You will often be representing FIKA Catering when arriving at client sites and event venues, so professionalism, communication and a positive attitude are essential.
1. Driving, Deliveries & Collections
- Complete scheduled deliveries and collections between FIKA kitchens, storage locations, client sites and event venues.
- Follow the daily delivery and collection schedule provided by the Logistics Manager or relevant operational lead.
- Ensure deliveries and collections are completed safely, accurately and on time.
- Check delivery instructions before leaving, including addresses, timings, contacts and items required.
- Communicate promptly with the Logistics Manager or relevant team member if delays, access problems or other issues arise.
- Support urgent or additional deliveries and collections where reasonably required.
- Plan sensible routes while considering traffic, road restrictions, delivery windows and operational priorities.
- Obtain any required confirmation of delivery or collection.
- Ensure collected equipment and reusable items are returned to the correct FIKA location.
2. Loading, Unloading & Delivery Checks
- Assist with the loading and unloading of food, drinks, equipment and other operational resources.
- Check that the correct items and quantities have been loaded before departing.
- Ensure food, drinks and equipment are secured and transported appropriately.
- Handle all items carefully to minimise damage, loss or contamination.
- Ensure food is transported in accordance with FIKA’s food-safety requirements.
- Report missing, damaged or incorrect items immediately.
- Ensure equipment collected from client sites or events is returned to the appropriate kitchen or storage location.
- Support the movement of heavy or bulky equipment while following appropriate manual-handling procedures.
3. Vehicle Care & Responsibility
- Take responsibility for FIKA vehicles while they are in your care.
- Complete appropriate vehicle checks and report any damage, faults, warning lights or safety concerns promptly.
- Keep vehicles clean, organised and suitable for operational use.
- Ensure vehicles are not left unnecessarily cluttered with equipment, packaging or waste following deliveries and events.
- Ensure vehicles are locked and secured appropriately when unattended.
- Drive responsibly and comply with all applicable road traffic laws and regulations.
- Follow FIKA procedures relating to fuel, charging, parking, congestion charges and other vehicle-related requirements.
- Report accidents, incidents, parking issues or vehicle damage immediately to the relevant manager.
- Treat FIKA vehicles and equipment with care and respect.
- FIKA vehicles must be returned and parked at FIKA Xchange (FikaX), the Dark Kitchen, or another designated FIKA location when required. Taking a FIKA vehicle home or keeping it overnight at a personal address is not permitted unless prior authorisation has been given by the relevant manager.
4. Equipment, Stock & Storage Support
The Driver forms part of FIKA’s wider logistics operation and will be expected to support practical logistics tasks when not actively driving.
Responsibilities include:
- Help prepare, pack and organise equipment for regular services and events.
- Assist with moving equipment between kitchens, storage locations and vehicles.
- Help maintain tidy and organised logistics and storage areas.
- Return collected equipment to its correct storage location.
- Help identify missing or damaged equipment and report it to the Logistics Manager.
- Support the tracking and return of reusable food boxes, containers and other operational items.
- Assist with general logistics preparation during quieter driving periods.
- Ensure vehicles are loaded in an organised way that allows deliveries to be completed efficiently.
5. Event Logistics & Operational Support
- Deliver food, drinks, equipment and other resources to event venues.
- Assist with unloading and positioning equipment at event sites.
- Support event setup and breakdown where required.
- Help load vehicles following events and ensure equipment is returned to the correct FIKA location.
- Assist the wider events and operational team during busy periods where reasonably required.
- Follow instructions from the Events Lead, Logistics Manager or Event Manager while working on site.
- Maintain a professional and helpful approach when working around clients, guests, venue teams and other suppliers.
- Help ensure event sites are left organised following collections and breakdowns.
6. Communication & Accountability
- Maintain clear communication with the Logistics Manager, Events Lead, kitchen teams and site teams throughout the working day.
- Check schedules and instructions before beginning each delivery route.
- Notify the relevant manager promptly if you are running late or if a delivery cannot be completed as planned.
- Report missing equipment, incorrect deliveries, vehicle issues or other operational concerns immediately.
- Confirm when important deliveries and collections have been completed.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and follow them through to completion.
- Ask for clarification when delivery or collection instructions are unclear rather than making assumptions.
- Work collaboratively with other drivers and the wider FIKA team.
7. Client Service & Professional Standards
As a FIKA Driver, you are often one of the FIKA team members our clients and venue teams will see regularly.
You will therefore be expected to:
- Represent FIKA Catering professionally and positively at all times.
- Be polite, helpful and respectful when dealing with clients, reception teams, security teams, venue staff and members of the public.
- Follow individual site access, security, loading and delivery procedures.
- Maintain a professional appearance while representing FIKA.
- Handle client property and FIKA equipment with care.
- Escalate client concerns or operational problems to the appropriate manager rather than attempting to resolve matters outside your responsibility.
8. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow FIKA’s health & safety and food-safety procedures at all times.
- Ensure food and equipment are transported safely and appropriately.
- Follow correct manual-handling procedures when loading, unloading and moving equipment.
- Use trolleys and other handling equipment appropriately where provided.
- Ensure vehicle loads are secure before travelling.
- Report hazards, accidents, near misses and safety concerns promptly.
- Follow client and venue health & safety requirements while working on site.
- Never operate a vehicle if you believe it is unsafe to drive.
9. Operational Efficiency
- Follow planned routes and schedules efficiently.
- Avoid unnecessary journeys wherever possible.
- Take care of equipment to reduce damage, loss and replacement costs.
- Communicate early when a problem could affect another delivery or collection.
- Support the Logistics Manager in maintaining an efficient and reliable logistics operation.
- Be flexible when operational priorities change and assist the team in finding practical solutions.
Key Skills & Requirements
- Full UK driving licence appropriate for the FIKA vehicles you will be required to drive.
- Previous professional driving, delivery, logistics, catering, hospitality or operational experience is desirable.
- Good working knowledge of London and surrounding areas.
- Confidence driving vans in busy urban environments.
- Reliable, punctual and organised.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow schedules and detailed delivery instructions.
- Good attention to detail.
- Comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for assigned tasks.
- A proactive and hands-on approach to work.

- Comfortable using mobile phones, navigation systems, email and basic digital systems required for deliveries.
- Ability to remain calm and professional when plans change.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings and weekends when required by the operation.
- Willingness to work across different FIKA kitchens, storage locations, client sites and event venues.
The Person We Are Looking For
You will be someone who understands that being a great Driver at FIKA is about much more than driving a van.
You take pride in arriving on time, checking that you have everything required and making sure food and equipment reach our clients safely and professionally.
You are willing to get involved. If there are no immediate deliveries, you do not simply wait in the vehicle – you are happy to help prepare equipment, organise storage, load or unload vans, support an event setup or help the wider operational team get ready for the next job.
You are dependable and understand that other members of the team rely on you. If something goes wrong, you communicate quickly, take ownership of what you can control and work with the team to find a practical solution.
Most importantly, you understand that every delivery is part of the FIKA client experience.
Join us on our mission to create exceptional, socially conscious experiences while fostering a community of growth, innovation, and positivity.
