Job Description:
As a Warehouse Operative within a busy groupage operation, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient movement of goods through the warehouse. You will be responsible for loading and unloading vehicles, moving and handling multiple consignments, operating MHE and supporting the accurate checking, sorting and preparation of goods for dispatch.
Working as part of a fast-paced team, you will help ensure goods are handled safely, efficiently and on time, while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and accuracy. You will also support the general housekeeping and smooth running of the warehouse, working closely with colleagues across the warehouse and transport operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate MHE, including forklifts, Bendi trucks and powered pallet trucks.
- Move, load and unload goods to and from trailers and around the warehouse/site.
- Receive, check, handle, pack and dispatch products accurately.
- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries.
- Prepare the warehouse for each shift to ensure operations run smoothly.
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality and integrity at all times.
- Follow all company procedures, health and safety requirements and safe working practices.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet operational targets and deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Demonstrate a positive, flexible and “can-do” attitude at all times.
What we are looking for in our Warehouse Operative:
- Previous experience working in a Warehouse environment.
- Min. 2 years experience working with import/ export.
- A current counterbalance certificate issued by a recognised body (mandatory)
- Reach truck certification is advantageous.
- Physically fit and able to lift and manoeuvre heavy goods (Essential)
- Demonstrates a positive work ethic and works collaboratively as part of a team.

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week on rotating shifts.
Week 1- Monday to Friday 05:00 am to 1:00 pm with a 30 minute paid break.
Week 2- Monday to Friday 13:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a 30 minute paid break.
Salary £28,500 gross per annum
