We are seeking a passionate and driven Head Chef to take the reins of a thriving, high quality food destination in Chester. This is a brilliant opportunity for a chef who loves working with fresh, seasonal produce and wants the freedom to create menus built around quality ingredients from local suppliers.
The venue is family owned and run, with a strong focus on people, teamwork and creating a positive working culture. They are looking for a chef who can lead, inspire and bring the team with them, rather than control from the top. This role needs someone with creativity, drive and ambition, but without ego.
This is a fantastic new chapter for a chef who is ready to make their mark within a close knit team. The business is keen to keep pushing standards, developing the food offering and working towards further recognition and accolades for the venue.
Previous Head Chef experience would be beneficial, but it is not essential. This role could also suit a strong Senior Sous Chef who has been in post for a while and is now ready to step up into their first Head Chef position.
This role does not provide accommodation, so you must be able to reliably commute or relocate to the area.
Please note that this role does not provide Sponsorship, to apply you will need a full British Passport or the right to work in the UK.

- Positive, hands on and able to lead without ego
- Comfortable managing a busy, high quality kitchen
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities
- Strong understanding of cost control, GP management and stock control
- Committed to maintaining the highest food safety and hygiene standards
- Ready for a new chapter within a close knit, people focused team
Head Chef Responsibilities:
- Lead the day to day operations of the kitchen
- Create and develop menus focused on fresh, seasonal and local produce
- Push standards across food quality, presentation and consistency
- Support the venue’s ambition to gain further recognition and accolades

- Lead, mentor and develop the kitchen team in a positive and supportive way
- Maintain a calm, organised and professional kitchen culture
- Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all dishes
