Burnt House Vineyard is a family business situated in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, producing award winning still and sparkling wines. We operate a Cellar Door & Tasting Room which offers tours, drop in wine tastings and wine accompanied sharing menu and small plates, all things that pair perfectly with our wines.
We’re looking for a highly motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly and passionate team. The role is for Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday's. From time to time we will have additional hours available for events during the week.
Duties
- Preparing our menu of seasonal produce to specifications and present dishes.
- Prepare food and cook and assist our head chef.
- Adhering to food hygiene and health and safety practices such as filling out log books, making sure all food is date labelled appropriately.
- Ensuring that the kitchen areas have an excellent standard of cleanliness at all times.
- Taking responsibility for deliveries and stock carrying/rotation, including ordering supplies as needed.
- Washing up.
- End of day cleaning.
- Maintaining the food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and utensils in good working condition, reporting any issues promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience in a similar hospitality environment is essential.
- Previous experience in a restaurant or cafe setting is advantageous.
- Strong hospitality skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen management.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for culinary arts and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
