Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of the care home’s electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and structural systems to identify potential issues before they escalate.
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks using skills in welding, electrical work, and mechanical troubleshooting to ensure all equipment and facilities operate smoothly.
- Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals to diagnose problems accurately and implement effective solutions.
- Manage programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to maintain automated systems within the building infrastructure.
- Supervise small maintenance projects or tasks, coordinating with other team members or contractors as needed to ensure timely completion.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards by following proper procedures during maintenance activities and maintaining accurate records of work performed.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing residents’ or staff’s maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
Skills
- Strong electrical experience with the ability to troubleshoot wiring, circuits, and control systems.
- Mechanical knowledge including plumbing, HVAC systems, and general building maintenance.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams for various systems.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in automated building functions.
- Welding skills for fabricating or repairing metal components as required.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervising experience in maintenance or facilities management roles.
- Excellent communication skills in English to effectively collaborate with team members and residents.
- Customer service orientation with a proactive attitude toward resolving issues efficiently.
