As the Lead Nurse (Band 8b) for Integrated Sexual Health and clinical services, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of top-tier nursing practice and clinical care to our patients. With a primary focus on clinical leadership, you will lead a multidisciplinary team, shape clinical protocols. To be responsible for the Nursing leadership within the HIV and Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health teams and clinical services, working closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
To provide expert clinical advice & support on all aspects of HIV, GUM and Contraception care to patients, carers and nursing & medical teams working in both the in-patient and outpatient environment.
To be responsible to ensure high standards of patient care, appropriate, optimising privacy and dignity at all times, in accordance with Trust policies and NMC guidelines.
To promote and support patients' adherence to HAART and help them understand and manage their HIV. To promote the use of PEPSE to patients and partners who are at high risk of acquiring HIV. To provide appropriate specialist knowledge and perform specialist nursing procedures and treatment in consultation with the HIV team.
To take the lead in driving the education and development agenda within Sexual health and GUM services agreed educational skills training / programs and practice within the setting.
Lead on all aspects of health promotion and education within the clinical area and to be able to advise patients & relatives in health promotion issues.
To lead on all aspects of medication safety within the service taking responsibility medications safety and security in accordance with NMC, Policy and best practice standards.
