We are looking for a friendly, energetic and enthusiastic Optical Assistant to join our team at PopSpecs Lakeside.
This is a customer-facing role where sales and excellent customer service are at the heart of the job. We help customers choose the right glasses for their needs and style, including single vision, bifocal and varifocal lenses.
Optical experience is not essential — we are happy to train the right person. What matters most to us is your personality, attitude and ability to connect with customers and confidently help them make a purchase.
What You'll Be Doing
- Welcoming customers into the store and providing a friendly, approachable service
- Helping customers choose frames and lenses that suit their needs, style and budget
- Dispensing and selling single vision, bifocal and varifocal glasses
- Building rapport with customers and understanding what they are looking for
- Confidently discussing products, prices and options with customers
- Working towards and contributing to sales targets
- Providing an excellent customer experience from start to finish
- Keeping the shop floor looking clean, organised and inviting
- Handling day-to-day customer enquiries
- Learning about our products and developing your optical knowledge

Optical experience is a bonus, but not essential. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.

This is a sales role within an optical environment, so you need to enjoy talking to people and be comfortable recommending and selling products.
We don't carry out eye tests at PopSpecs Lakeside. Our focus is on helping customers find glasses they love, while providing a great experience and delivering strong sales.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
