ABOUT MILLER KNIGHT
Miller Knight is a proudly independent, family-owned lifestyle financial planning firm, established in 2001. Our aim is to be the best company our clients interact with in their lives.
We exist to change people’s lives for the better. To give money meaning and hold people to account in achieving the future life they’ve described. For us, financial planning is about much more than pensions and investment. It’s about helping people use their money to create the life they want.
The Miller Knight community is central to everything we do, from our client advisory board to our monthly walks.
We practice what we preach and have already successfully delivered our own internal succession plan, securing the future of the business as independent for decades to come.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for an Adviser to provide an excellent service to our existing clients, yes to deliver a compliant and technically brilliant service but to understand the real job is to be their financial partner, to genuinely love them and their plans!
This could suit an existing Adviser who wants to be part of something meaningful or someone with a strong technical financial planning background who is ready to take the next step into an Adviser role.
Quite simply, we are looking for someone who will ‘love our clients to death’.
We want someone who genuinely cares about people and goes the extra mile to ensure that they always feel valued and exceptionally well looked after.
THE ROLE
· Managing a group of existing clients and their ongoing financial planning needs
· Conducting annual planning meetings and assessing the ongoing suitability of advice
· Reviewing and advising on financial plans, cash-flow forecasts, investment and withdrawals strategies
· Developing trusted, long-term relationships with clients
· Helping clients make confident decisions about the future from early saving through to estate & IHT planning
· Identifying financial planning opportunities that support each client’s goals
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone who:
· Holds the Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning as a minimum
· Has the ambition to continually learn and grow personally as well as professionally
· Has a minimum of four years’ financial services experience and strong product knowledge
· Has experience of cash-flow planning
· Has sound technical financial planning knowledge
· Understands financial modelling software such as Voyant
· Has a good understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements
· Is highly organised, methodical and able to manage their own workload
· Communicates clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing
· Has excellent listening and questioning skills
· Can build trust and inspire confidence with clients
· Uses their judgement confidently when making decisions
· Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a supportive team
Previous experience as a Financial Planner would be helpful but it isn’t essential. Advanced qualifications such as Chartered or Certified Financial Planner status would also be welcomed but are not required initially, there is an expectation they would be worked towards.
