What do we need?
We are searching for a passionate Senior Sous chef to join our BRAND NEW
VENUE The Charleston, Bakewell. You will play a pivotal role in our kitchen’s
success. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will assist in overseeing all
culinary operations, ensuring impeccable food quality.
About the job:
As the senior sous chef you will be responsible for:
- Assist with kitchen management: Support the head chef in overseeing
daily operations and ensure high standards are met.
- Supervise the kitchen team: Lead and guide junior chefs, ensuring
consistency across the kitchen.
- Ensure food quality: Maintain top-quality standards for cooking,
presentation, and service.
- Manage stock and ordering: Oversee stock, place orders, and ensure
ingredients are properly stored.
- Maintain hygiene and safety: Ensure the kitchen adgeres to health &
safety regulations.
- Control food cost: Monitor portion sizes, minimise waste, and help
manage food costs without compromising quality.
- Train and develop staff: Help with the recruitment, training, and
development of staff.
- Assist with budget control: Support the head chef with budget tracking
and cost control efforts.
- Lead during service: Be hands-on during service, ensuring the dishes are
prepared and sent out on time.
