ROLE: Mobile Fabric Engineer
LOCATION: North West London (MET Police Contract)

We're looking for a Mobile Fabric Engineer to deliver high‑quality building fabric maintenance across a range of Metropolitan Police sites in North West London.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fabric repairs across designated MET Police buildings.
- Perform carpentry, basic plumbing, painting, plastering, and general building fabric maintenance as required.
- Complete minor repairs to fixtures, fittings, doors, walls, partitions, and building finishes.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, to a high standard, and in accordance with contractual SLAs and KPIs.
- Maintain accurate records using Mitie systems, including job sheets, asset updates, and compliance documentation.
- Liaise professionally with the client and site personnel, ensuring minimal disruption to sensitive environments.
- Diagnose issues, propose solutions, and escalate complex problems when required.
- Participate in the out-of-hours rota (where applicable) to support emergency call‑outs on police estates.
Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role:
- Proven experience in a building fabric or multi‑trade position (carpentry preferred but not essential).
- Full UK driving licence (mobile role with van provided).
- Strong understanding of health & safety standards and safe working practices.
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites with excellent problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to pass and maintain Metropolitan Police vetting (essential) - which could take from 7-10 months
