We are currently recruiting for additional Garden and Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our existing teams. We are ideally looking for someone with some grounds maintenance experience, in particular with trade specific machinery, such as, push and ride on mowers, hedge trimmers, brushcutters, chippers etc HOWEVER full training can be provided to the right candidate.
You will be responsible for carrying out a range of gardening duties, as detailed below to achieve a pleasant and functional outdoor environment. You will at times need to work under your own initiate without close supervision. The work is physically demanding and you will be working outside in all weathers. Full protective clothing will be provided, as will safety boots.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, and trimming lawns
- Maintain flower beds, gardens, and other landscaped areas
- Prune trees and shrubs to ensure healthy growth and appearance
- Operate hand tools and power equipment for various landscaping tasks
- Irrigate plants and lawns to ensure proper hydration
- Remove weeds, (spray pesticides) leaves, and debris from outdoor areas
- Assist with the installation of new landscaping features
Experience:
- Previous experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance preferred
- Familiarity with hand tools and power equipment used in landscaping
- Knowledge of proper techniques for planting, growing, and maintaining plants
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions i.e warning labels on chemicals
