We are looking for a dynamic, solutions-focused and detail oriented midwifery leader, who can support and deputise for the Consultant Midwife for Public Health and Safeguarding.

This post is designed to support and deputise for the Consultant Midwife for Public Health and Safeguarding with the activities associated with that role.
The post requires collaborative multidisciplinary and interagency work across professional boundaries in health and social care in the City of London, Hackney, Waltham Forest and other local authorities as required. This post is designed to help maintain the midwifery contribution to the public health agenda for women who have maternity care or give birth at Homerton hospital.
Together with the Consultant Midwife, the postholder will lead on the services for vulnerable pregnant women and the unborn in clinical practice by influencing the delivery of safe and high-quality maternity care within Homerton services.
Through the enactment of innovative strategies and collaborative working, ensure women with complex social needs benefit fully from a multi-disciplinary approach to their care to bring elements of normality to their care pathway regardless of lead carer.
The postholder will provide strategic safeguarding midwifery leadership for City and Hackney and represent midwifery on appropriate safeguarding fora including Child Death Overview Panel (CDOP)
To work closely with and support the specialist midwives and public health midwives who have a focus on working with vulnerable pregnant women and their families.
