Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Bar & Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving beverages and food, and ensuring the smooth operation of the café. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, good organisational skills, and a positive attitude to create a welcoming environment for all guests.
Candidates must have previous relevant experience.
Duties
- Serve drinks and food to customers in a courteous and timely manner
- Take orders accurately and process payments using the POS system
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar and dining areas, including clearing tables and cleaning equipment
- Restock supplies and ensure all items are prepared for service
- Follow food safety standards and health regulations at all times
- Assist in setting up the café before opening and closing procedures afterwards
- Provide friendly assistance to customers, answering queries about menu items
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure efficient service
Experience
- Previous experience in hospitality or food service is required and additional training will be provided
- Knowledge of food safety standards is advantageous
- Experience in serving customers in a restaurant or café environment is desirable
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Ability to work well within a team and maintain a positive attitude under pressure
