Upminster Golf Club is one of Essex's most established private members' clubs, providing an outstanding golf course, clubhouse and social environment for over 1000 members We are seeking a proactive, practical and reliable Facilities & Estate Operative to join our team and help maintain the high standards expected throughout our clubhouse, buildings, grounds and wider estate.
The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Upminster Golf Club. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning and maintenance of our Clubhouse and all areas. The role is full time. Additional hours may be requested as required for business needs. You will report directly to the Club secretary.
Estate & Building Maintenance
Responsibilities
· Coordinates the servicing and repairing of systems for lighting, heating, ventilating, fire, drainage, plumbing, electrical, painting and related maintenance activities.
· Maintains accurate maintenance and repair records of equipment and machinery.
· Visually inspects Club areas, public spaces and back of the house areas to replace light bulbs, lamps, switches etc.
· Ensures that all building maintenance, repair and follow-up cleaning activities are identified, scheduled and completed.
· Responds to maintenance emergencies.
· Maintains inventory of cleaning, maintenance, repair and related supplies.
· Develops and maintains a resource management plan that outlines short-term and long-term requirements for repair and maintenance, capital requirements and capital replacement.
· Fully conversant with the Club’s Health & Safety policy and emergency procedures for fire and accident, reporting any accidents in the prescribed manner.
· Ensures a highly efficient safety programme with emphasis on awareness, discipline and compliance; implements an overall safety programme that conforms to HSE standards.
· Completes other appropriate assignments given by the Club Secretary or Club Course Manager.
· To ensure a high degree of personal presentation and hygiene in line with the company’s dress and appearance policy.

· Weeding and bark maintenance
· Path edging and presentation

· Bin and waste area management
· Car park inspections
· General grounds maintenance
· Golf course presentation support
Essential Requirements
Full UK driving licence
Desirable Experience
Golf club, leisure or hospitality environment
Grounds maintenance experience
Landscaping or horticultural experience
Trade-related skills
Machinery operation experience
Basic computer skills for maintenance reporting and record keeping
