Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Data Center Technician to join our recently created support team.
We currently operate a shift team that support a growing DC organisation in the UK. To assist our team we require and experienced Technician to join our team in Faringdon, London to enhance the coverage we currently provide.
The role is a 12hr shift based position based on 4 days on then 4 days off, 4 night on, 4 days off, so it would suit an applicant who is open to long shifts but rewarded with consistent time off.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting data centre infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain data centre hardware, including servers, storage systems, and networking equipment
- Perform routine troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify and resolve hardware and software issues
- Perform installation of cabling systems for new client requirements or upkeep of existing client portfolio
- Installation and setup of new hardware (racking & stacking)
- Inventory control
- Document system configurations, procedures, and incidents accurately in accordance with client specification
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing building maintenance
Skills
- Up to date knowledge of typical Data Centre operational process
- Excellent cabling experience including Fibre & Copper installation
- Strong understanding of cabling testing, Fluke, OTDR etc
- Prepared to work within a defined shift pattern and become an integral part of the team.
- Physically capable of installing hardware into Data Cabinets
Pay: £20.16 per hour
