Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Deputy Manager to join our care home team specialising in senior care, including dementia and Alzheimer's care. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, supervisory experience, and a compassionate approach to providing high-quality assisted living services. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a supportive environment where residents' wellbeing and personalised care plans are prioritised. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with a background in nursing, home care, or senior care environments.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Manager and Senior Deputy Manager in overseeing daily operations within the care home, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Supervise and support care staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on delivering exceptional resident care.
- Contribute to the development and review of personalised care plans tailored to individual needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care.
- Support medication administration processes in accordance with legal and organisational policies.
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, promptly addressing any concerns or changes in condition.
- Assist with staff training programmes, including leadership development and specialised dementia training.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for residents and staff alike.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive care services.
- Lead by example in delivering compassionate, respectful, and person-centred care at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working within assisted living or nursing home environments, particularly with senior or dementia patients.
- Strong understanding of care plans, medication administration, and regulatory compliance related to eldercare.
- Demonstrable supervisory or management experience within a healthcare or residential setting.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s and dementia-specific care techniques.
- Leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills and the ability to motivate a team.
- Compassionate approach combined with excellent communication skills suitable for working with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
