Job Title: Chemical Warehouse Operative
Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative to join our busy warehouse team handling chemicals. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving and booking in chemicals, handling, decanting, picking, storing, and relabeling products safely and efficiently, whilst wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE). Attention to detail, punctuality, and a strong work ethic are essential for thriving in this fast-paced, safety-critical environment.
Shift pattern
Monday to Friday (No Weekends) 40 hours / 08:00-16:30
Key Responsibilities
- Safely handle and decant chemicals in line with health and safety regulations.
- Book in incoming chemicals in the goods-in area, checking deliveries for accuracy and condition.
- Accurately pick and prepare chemical orders for dispatch.
- Store chemicals safely, ensuring correct segregation, labeling, and stock rotation.
- Relabel chemicals as required, maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment.
- Wear all required PPE at all times when handling chemicals.
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
- Assist with stock management and regular inventory checks.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet deadlines and operational targets.
Skills and Qualifications
- Previous warehouse experience preferred, ideally with hazardous chemicals.
- Knowledge of chemical handling, storage, and safety procedures is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Punctual, reliable, and hardworking.
- Able to lift and move stock safely.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
Working Conditions
- Busy warehouse environment with strict Health and Safety requirements.
- Regular lifting, bending, and standing throughout the shift.
- Must wear PPE and follow chemical safety protocols at all times.
Pay: From £12.80 per hour
