Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles, including delivery vans or lorries, in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure optimal functioning.
- Deliver goods to clients or other designated locations promptly and professionally.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during transit.
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo, ensuring items are secured correctly for transport.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Follow all health and safety procedures to minimise risks during operations.
Requirements
- Valid UK driving licence with a clean driving record is preferred.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Experience with delivery routes and navigation systems.
- Ability to work independently with excellent organisational skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules or routes as required.
- Previous experience in vehicle maintenance or repair is advantageous but not essential.
- Forklift driving experience
