Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organised Veterinary Receptionist to join our practice. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for clients and their pets, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth daily operations. Prior receptionist roles will be advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Greeting clients warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure
- Managing appointment scheduling efficiently
- Answering phone calls, responding to enquiries, and directing calls appropriately
- Maintaining accurate client records and updating patient information in the system
- Handling administrative tasks such as processing payments
- Ensuring the reception and consulting areas remain clean, tidy, and welcoming at all times
- Supporting veterinary staff with general administrative support during busy periods
Requirements
- Previous experience in a veterinary practice desirable but not mandatory
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
- A friendly demeanour with a genuine interest in animal welfare
Hours
- Hours will be a minimum of 14.5hours/week, with the possibility of more hours depending on shift availability.
- Typical shifts will be as follows: Mondays, 3-7:30; Tuesdays, 2-6.30 and Fridays, 2-7.30. 1:4 Saturdays 8:30-1pm.
- Shifts will be split between both our main churchdown branch and our barnwood branch.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
