Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and professional Security Officer to safeguard our premises and ensure the safety of staff, visitors, and assets. The ideal candidate will possess strong observational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining a secure environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for monitoring surveillance systems, conducting patrols, and responding swiftly to incidents.
Duties
- Monitor security cameras (CCTV) and surveillance equipment to observe activity across the premises.
- Conduct regular patrols of the property to identify potential security breaches or hazards.
- Implement loss prevention strategies by observing and deterring theft or unauthorised access.
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or suspicious activity, following established protocols.
- Maintain detailed incident reports and log activities accurately during shifts.
- Provide first aid assistance when necessary, ensuring immediate care until professional help arrives.
- Control access points by verifying identification and issuing visitor passes as required.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency services during incidents or investigations.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in security or surveillance roles is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of CCTV systems and surveillance techniques is advantageous.
- Strong observational skills with an eye for detail and suspicious activity.
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in high-pressure situations.
- First aid certification is desirable; training can be provided for suitable candidates.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A clean criminal record and the ability to pass background checks are mandatory.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights or weekends if required.
