At Triangle CofE Primary School the pupils are at the heart of everything that we do. We believe that building a strong, team to support each and every child on their journey is paramount. Therefore, we aim to attract, retain and develop excellent staff.
We require a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant. The post is to support a child with an Education, Health and Care Plan. Experience of supporting pupils with additional needs would be preferable, however this is not essential. Ultimately, we are looking for the right person and training will be provided.
The LSA will work under the direct instruction of teaching/senior staff to support access to learning and personal, social and emotional development for pupils. Specifically, this may be to:
Work in class and small group situations whilst providing targeted 1:1 and group interventions as required- Adapt support dependent on the pupils’ needs - communication, patience and understanding.
- Engage in playground games and activities to support social engagement and development
- Keep accurate records, sharing key information with relevant professionals when required
You will:
- Be able to use your own initiative and show adaptability
- Respond in a positive, caring and empathetic manner
- Have a clear understanding of the ways in which children learn and a range of effective teaching styles
- Be confident in your own ability whilst working well within a team
- Be keen to develop your skills further by completing signposted training
- Be determined to make a positive difference to our pupils, staff and the school environment.
