Chef de Partie – Events & Banqueting

We are seeking a highly organised and adaptable Chef de Partie (CDP) to join our fast-paced event catering kitchen. This is an hourly-paid role, with payment for all hours worked. The position will involve working across a variety of events and venues, from intimate VIP dinners to large corporate events and weddings.
Key Responsibilities
High-Volume Event Prep & Service
- Run a prep station and efficiently produce menu components for large-scale events.
- Execute bulk cooking techniques while maintaining high standards of quality, flavour and presentation.
- Work on the plating line during live events, ensuring dishes are prepared and presented consistently.
- Adapt quickly to changing guest numbers and last-minute dietary requirements.
Logistics & Off-Site Operations
- Pack and label food securely for transportation to external venues and event spaces.
- Assist with the setup of temporary kitchens, ensuring equipment and ingredients are organised and ready for service.
- Maintain strict temperature controls during food transport and off-site storage.
- Assist with the efficient breakdown and cleaning of the kitchen following events.
Food Safety & Team Leadership
- Support and supervise agency chefs and Commis Chefs working on your station during larger events.
- Follow HACCP procedures, food safety regulations and allergen controls throughout all preparation and service.
- Minimise food waste through effective preparation, batch cooking and portion control.
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years' experience as a CDP or Demi-CDP, ideally within high-volume banqueting, hotels or event catering.
- Valid Level 2 Food Safety and Allergen Awareness training.
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain consistent quality during busy service periods.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a busy kitchen team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
- A positive, flexible and practical approach to working across different venues and event environments.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and handling the day-to-day requirements of event catering, including moving food, equipment and supplies as required.
