Job Summary
Our Plymouth based client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Manager to lead and oversee the delivery of exceptional care within a vibrant children's residential home in Plymouth. As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards set by Ofsted, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere for residents and staff alike. Your leadership will drive quality care, promote best practices, and ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the home. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, child-centred care that is tailored to the individual needs of each young person, promoting positive outcomes, independence, and wellbeing. You will oversee the effective management of the home, maintain compliance with all relevant regulatory and safeguarding standards, and lead a committed team of care professionals to deliver exceptional support. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a genuine passion for improving the lives of children and young people. Experience supporting children with learning disabilities, autism, communication needs, and behaviours of concern would be highly beneficial. As a Registered Manager, you will play a key role in creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where children feel valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. You will work collaboratively with families, social workers, healthcare professionals, and education providers to ensure each child receives the highest standard of care and support. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Ofsted requirements, safeguarding practices, and person-centred care, alongside the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team committed to making a meaningful difference in young people’s lives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of care delivery, ensuring high standards of person-centered care tailored to individual needs.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and review of personalized care plans that promote independence, dignity, and well-being.
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and other relevant legislation through regular audits, staff training, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Supervise and support a team of care staff, including recruitment, training, performance management, and fostering a positive team culture rooted in leadership and collaboration.
- Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with prescribed protocols while maintaining meticulous records.
- Promote a safe environment by conducting risk assessments, health & safety checks, and ensuring infection control procedures are rigorously followed.
- Maintain effective communication with residents’ families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive care services.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a children’s residential care setting
- Experience in a management role, ideally as a Deputy Manager or Registered Manager
- Experience supporting children or young people with learning disabilities, autism, or complex needs
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Strong communication skills to motivate staff and engage positively with residents and their families.
- Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and person centred care practices
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
- Full UK Driving Licence
Pay: £45,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
