About the Role:
At Knox Capital Advisory Services, we help organisations and private clients make informed financial and investment decisions. From our office in Lisburn, we provide investment research, portfolio analysis and strategic financial advisory services across the United Kingdom.
We are looking for a Principal Investment Analyst who can take ownership of complex investment research and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations to senior stakeholders. You will assess companies, industries and financial markets, develop detailed valuation models and support important portfolio and capital allocation decisions.
This is a senior individual contributor position. You will not hold an executive title, but you will be expected to provide technical leadership, guide junior analysts and maintain a high standard of investment analysis across the team.
Why Work With Us?
The Environment:
Our office is based in central Lisburn with convenient access to local transport, shops and business services. We offer a professional and collaborative workplace where analysts can focus on high-quality research and meaningful client work.
Meaningful Responsibility:
You will work on substantial investment assignments and contribute directly to recommendations presented to clients and internal decision makers. Your analysis will have a visible impact on portfolio strategy and financial planning.
Analytical Resources:
You will have access to financial databases, market research platforms and modern modelling tools required to produce accurate and well-supported investment reports.
Professional Growth:
We support relevant professional qualifications, technical training and industry events that strengthen your expertise in investment analysis, valuation and portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Research:
Conduct detailed research into listed companies, private businesses, industries and economic trends. Identify investment opportunities, material risks and factors that may influence future performance.
Financial Modelling:
Build and maintain financial models covering revenue projections, profitability, cash flow, capital structure and scenario analysis. Ensure that assumptions are clearly documented and supported by reliable evidence.
Company Valuation:
Apply appropriate valuation methods including discounted cash flow, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions and asset-based valuation.
Investment Recommendations:
Prepare well-structured investment papers that clearly explain the opportunity, valuation, risks, expected returns and recommended course of action.
Portfolio Analysis:
Review portfolio performance, asset allocation, concentration levels and risk exposure. Support regular portfolio reviews and recommend adjustments where appropriate.
Market Monitoring:
Track financial markets, interest rates, economic indicators and sector developments. Assess how changing conditions may affect existing and potential investments.
Stakeholder Management:
Present complex investment findings to clients, finance professionals and internal management in a clear and practical manner. Respond confidently to questions and explain the reasoning behind your conclusions.
Technical Leadership:
Review analytical work completed by junior and mid-level colleagues. Provide guidance on modelling, valuation, research quality and report preparation.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
At least 6 years of relevant experience in investment analysis, equity research, corporate finance, asset management or financial advisory services.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of financial statements, investment principles, valuation techniques, portfolio analysis and financial markets.
Modelling Skills:
Advanced financial modelling and Microsoft Excel skills. You should be able to build accurate models independently and identify weaknesses in assumptions or calculations.
Qualifications:
A degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics or a related discipline is required. CFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or another relevant professional qualification would be advantageous.
Communication Skills:
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. You must be able to transform complex financial information into clear recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
