Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Wildlife Rescue Team Member to join our organisation in Kirton in Lindsey. The successful candidate will play a vital role in rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing injured or orphaned wildlife. This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to wildlife conservation efforts while working in a dynamic and supportive environment. A strong passion for animal welfare and willingness to learn is essential.
Duties
- Respond promptly to wildlife rescue calls and assess the condition of animals in need of assistance
- Safely capture and transport injured or distressed wildlife to rehabilitation centres
- Assist with the care and treatment of animals under supervision (until undergone training), including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring health status
- Maintain detailed records of rescues, treatments, and releases
- Collaborate with team members to develop and implement rehabilitation plans
- Educate the public on wildlife conservation and safe interaction practices
- Ensure all activities adhere to relevant legal and ethical standards for wildlife protection
Requirements
- Genuine passion for wildlife conservation and animal welfare
- Previous animal care experience is welcomed but not required as full training will be provided.
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors at times
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment and often times on your own.
- Valid UK driving licence is preferred but not essential
- Willingness to undertake training related to animal handling, first aid, and legal compliance
