Apprentice Plant Fitter
Location: Redditch, UK
Opportunity:
We are currently seeking an Apprentice Plant Fitter to join our yard team. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to maintain a clean and tidy yard, as well as assisting with servicing and attending breakdowns and inspections across various vehicles, equipment and construction plant machinery.
The Successful Applicant will have:
- English GCSE Grade 4/C, Level 2 Functional Skills, or equivalent
- Mathematics GCSE Grade 4/C, Level 2 Functional Skills, or equivalent
- A full UK driving licence
- Be willing to travel to and from various site locations across the Midlands and Eastern region
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
o Maintaining high levels of Health & Safety within the yard at all times.
o Learn to service and repair machines and equipment which could include excavators, dumpers and smaller hand tools.
o Learn to service and repair road going vehicles and lifting accessories.
o Always maintaining a clean and tidy yard.
o Carrying out any general required maintenance.
o Collection of any related items where required.
o Ad hoc tasks as and when required.
What We Offer
- A structured apprenticeship programme in Plant Fitting leading to a Level 2 qualification in Construction equipment maintenance mechanic.
- You’ll gain experience through both on-the-job learning and off-the-job training. Depending on the training provider, this could include college day release, online workshops, and regular assessor visits.

Package:
o Contract Type: Apprentice
o Weekly Hours: 07:30am to 16:30pm Monday – Friday (07:30am – 15:30pm if under 18yrs)
o Holiday Allowance: 23 days plus bank holidays
